Dirtwest is a small group of volunteers advocating for the creation and maintenance of bike trails , bike parks, and pump tracks in the Lower Mainland.
Dirtwest started as an advocacy group for the Invergarry bike park project in 2008.
Since our humble beginnings we have built pump tracks from scratch (Fun Fun Park in 1472 128 Street, Surrey) which allows adequate fun for both kids and adults on two different tracks. We rebuilt Port Kells park dirt jumps in 2011 and 2013, and started a pumptrack project there in 2014. Our marquee project was the Invergarry Bike Park (11295 Wallace Dr, Surrey) revitalization in 2013/2014 with the installation of riding trails and jump tracks suitable for every skill of rider from tykes on run bikes to pro mountain bikers. These trails included Flow Form jump lips and sustainable, low maintenance jumps. We also help maintain and rework cycling facilities such as Port Kells Park (19340 – 88 Avenue, Surrey).
Our goal is to perpetuate the sport and culture of cycling by advocating for relevant, accessible and sustainable cycling amenities with the City of Surrey and Surrounding Municipalities.
How can you help?
